Section One: Biographies of each of the United States Presidents and Governors of Illinois thru 1894. This section has a total of  176 pages.

Section Two: Family Biographies of the south western Illinois Region:  This is the vast majority of the book and includes 679 family biographies in Jackson County, Monroe County, Perry County, and Randolph County, Il.  More than 5,000 individuals are made mention of throughout the text.  This section has a total of  682 pages.

Some of the locations within these four counties include: Carbondale, Chester, Waterloo, Pinckneyville, Du Quoin, Red Bud, Kaskaskia, Sparta, Vergennes, Tamaroa, Murphysboro, Illinois.
