Included are the name, occupation, post office, and township of 6522 taxpayers in St. Louis County, Missouri in 1893. In most cases, these are the heads of households and thus represent a far larger number of individuals. Since the 1890 census is no longer available, this directory can be very helpful in determining if a family was resident in St. Louis County in the 1890's.

The directory also includes a number of ads for businesses in the area. Counting the covers, their are 57 pages of ads.
